Alok Verma opens Madurai branch, CBI gets 67th office in country

CBI Director Alok Verma today opened a new Anti-Corruption Branch of the agency in Madurai in Tamil Nadu, making it the 67th such office of the nearly 5,500-personnel strong agency in the country.

The branch headed by a Superintendent of Police is functioning from 73, Athikulam Road, Reserve Line, Madurai, a statement from the agency said.

The inaugural function was attended by senior officers of the CBI and senior police officers and other officers of the district administration, public sector undertakings, central government, etc., it said.
