Alstom T&D India has bagged three contracts worth over Rs 168.7 crore for supplying equipment for power plants in West Bengal.
"Alstom T&D India has been awarded three contracts worth over Rs 168.7 crore to supply gas-insulated (GIS) and air-insulated (AIS) substation packages for West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL)," the French equipment major said in a statement today.
The first two contracts include design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of GIS package for the Vidyasagar lndustrial Park at Kharagpur and for Dharampur.

Both substations will help strengthen the state's transmission network.
As part of the third contract, worth Rs 68.3 crore (Euro 8.5 million), Alstom will supply a substation and a transformer bay at Gokarna, and a substation and feeder bays at Krishnanagar.
All products for these three contracts will be delivered from the company's factories across India.
"With these orders, Alstom T&D India has secured leadership position with more than 50% market share in eastern India for GIS and AIS substations," Rathin Basu, Managing Director, Alstom T&D India said in the statement.
The state government of West Bengal has planned major investments in the T&D sector.
Alstom T&D shares were trading at Rs 191.20, down 0.86% on the BSE.
