UFO Moviez to monetise United Media Works' screen ad inventory
Digital cinema distribution firm UFO Moviez India today said it has tied-up with United Media Works, a digital cinema technology and service provider having more than 300 digitised cinema screens, to monetise the latter's advertising inventory on these screens.
"UFO has acquired long term exclusive rights from United Media Works to monetise the advertising inventory on these screens. In addition, UFO will share movie content to these screens in UFO M-4 format, a satellite-based, e-cinema movie delivery platform," UFO Moviez India said in a release.
However, existing commercial and service arrangement between United Media Works and its channel partners, exhibitors, distributors shall remain unchanged, it added.
Viewership of the 10th edition of the Indian Premier
League (IPL) on sports channel Sony Six has grown by 81 per cent over last year, across the first 13 matches, the broadcaster Sony Pictures (SPN) said.
"The growth across the entire sports cluster (Sony Six, Sony Six HD, Sony ESPN, Sony ESPN HD) was 49 per cent over last year," SPN said in a statement.
This year's IPL saw a cumulative reach of 295 million viewers across 13 matches, making it the highest ever cumulative reach across 10 years of the tournament, it noted.
The time spent on viewing has grown by 41 per cent from 48 minutes to 67 minutes across the first 13 matches.
The broadcaster said in the second week of the 10th edition of the league, 24.4 million impressions were recorded as against 18.1 million last year in the same period.

Kone to expand presence in Sri Lanka
Elevators and escalators manufacturer Kone today said it has partnered with Scan Engineering to expand its business into Sri Lanka.
"Kone is expanding its operations in the Sri Lankan market and has entered into a distribution agreement with Scan Engineering, which has about 10 years of experience in installing, maintaining and servicing elevators and escalators," the company said in a statement.
"We see a good potential for our brand in this market. Kone will provide elevators, escalators as well as solutions for maintenance and modernisation to the Sri Lankan market," its Managing Director Amit Gossain said.
Scan Engineering Managing Director Keerthi Abeynayake said, "We have been in the industry for a long time. Our tie- up with Kone will further strengthen our confidence in serving the market much better."

Kinetic WW India, part of the WPP group, today launched two planning tools -- Aureus and Aviator to effectively plan and buy outdoor campaigns.
Aureus is an end-to-end planning software which harnesses local market insights including traffic counts, points of interest and detailed inventory data on a unified base and the company has partnered market research firm GFK to assemble traffic count in the country.
Aviator is a planning and buying tool for airports, which will be extended to railways and other travel places in future.
