Aluminium remained higher and prices gained another Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous market today largely on increased demand from consuming industries along with a firming Asian trend.
However, other base metals moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at previous levels.
Traders said apart from pick up in demand from consuming industries and a firming trend in it prices in Asian region kept aluminium prices higher.
Meanwhile, at Shanghai Futures Exchange, aluminum rose 1.1 per cent to trade at six month highs of 11,870 yuan (USD 1,818) a metric tonne.
In the national capital, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensil scrap advanced by Rs 2 each to Rs 152, Rs 148,Rs 148 and Rs 146 per kg, respectively.
