Aluminium prices softened by 0.36 per cent to Rs 125.45 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on sluggish demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in February month declined by 45 paise, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 125.45 per kg in business turnover of 111 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in March contracts shed 40 paise, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 125.55 per kg in 39 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of subdued demand demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly influenced aluminium prices at futures trade.
