Aluminium prices were up by 0.52 per cent to Rs 125.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions owing to pick up in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April edged up by 65 paise, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 125.80 per kg in business turnover of 365 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in March contracts traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 125.50 per kg in 2,420 lots.
Analysts said participants created fresh positions after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly influenced aluminium prices at futures trade.
