Aluminium prices rose further by 0.36 per cent to Rs 140.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up positions, tracking a firm trend at the spot market on soaring demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in August edged up by 50 paise, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 140.10 per kg in a business turnover of 10 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in July contracts was up by 35 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 139.60 per kg in 176 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants, driven by surging demand from consuming industries in the physical market, kept aluminium prices higher in futures trade.
