Aluminium remained higher for the second day with prices rising further by 0.58 per cent to Rs 111.95 per kg in futures trade today as traders enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in October month traded higher by 65 paise, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 111.95 per kg in business turnover of 2352 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November contracts edged up by 50 paise, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 112.30 per kg in 687 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by participants backed by rising demand from consuming industries at the spot market, mainly kept aluminium prices higher at futures trade.
