Aluminium prices eased by 0.44 per cent to Rs 124.90 per kg as participants were engaged in reducing their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in August declined by 55 paise, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 124.90 per kg, in a business turnover of 10 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July weakened by 50 paise, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 124.35 per kg in 352 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries at the spot market mainly weighed on aluminium prices at futures trade.
