Aluminium prices edged 0.18 per cent higher to Rs 142.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators raised bets, taking positive cues from spot market on uptick in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July rose 25 paise, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 142.50 per kg in a business turnover of 242 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in August was trading higher by 15 paise, or 0.10 per cent, at Rs 143.40 per kg in 21 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in aluminum futures to widening of bets by traders after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market.
