Traders created fresh positions, buoyed by firming trend overseas and rising demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Buoyed by firming trend overseas and rising spot demand, aluminium futures rose by 0.30% to Rs 116.55 per kg today as traders created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in current month moved up by 35 paise, or 0.30%, to Rs 116.55 per kg, with a business turnover of 326 lots.

The metal for delivery in May contracts rose by 25 paise, or 0.21%, to Rs 116.80 per kg in a business turnover of 27 lots.

Market participants said besides rising demand at domestic spot markets, a firming trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME), helped aluminium futures to trade higher.
