Aluminium prices softened by 0.22 per cent to Rs 156.55 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid easing demand in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in June declined by 35 paise, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 16.55 per kg in a business turnover of 90 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in July shed 10 paise, or 0.06 per cent to Rs 157 per kg in 1 lot.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by traders, easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market weighed on aluminium prices at futures trade.
