Aluminium prices traded lower by 1.19 per cent to Rs 124.75 per kg in futures trading today as speculators cut down positions, driven by easing demand at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May declined by Rs 1.50, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 124.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 361 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 1.35, or 1.07 per cent, to Rs 124.40 per kg in 3,631 lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by participants, driven by sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly influenced aluminium prices at futures trade.
