Aluminium prices were up by 0.20 per cent to Rs 105.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions after uptick in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in September was trading higher by 20 paise, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 105.50 per kg in a business turnover of 124 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by participants following pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, helped aluminium prices to trade higher at futures trade.
