Aluminium up 0.5% on firming overseas trend

Metal for delivery in May traded higher by 0.49%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Aluminium prices today rose by 0.54% to Rs 111.40 per kg in futures trade as speculators enlarged positions amid a firming trend overseas.

Besides, increased demand at domestic spot markets also influenced prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April rose by 60 paise, or 0.54%, to Rs 111.40 per kg in business turnover of 1,216 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in May traded higher by 55 paise, or 0.49%, to Rs 112.65 per kg in 87 lots.

Market analysts said the rise in aluminium prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to a firming trend in metal at the London Metal Exchange and rising demand at spot markets here.
