Aluminium up by 0.7% on pick-up in demand

A firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) also supported the rise in prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Aluminium edged up by 0.68% to Rs 111.05 per kg today in futures trade on the back firm demand in spot markets.

A firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) also supported the rise in prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May rose by 75 paise, or 0.68%, to Rs 111.05 per kg, with a business turnover of 192 lots.

The metal for delivery in June also gained 70 paise, or 0.67%, to trade at Rs 112.75 per kg in a turnover of 12 lots.

Marketmen said apart from a firming trend in base metals at the LME, increased demand from consuming industries at domestic spot markets influenced aluminium prices at futures trade here.
