Aluminium up 0.7% on spot demand

Metal for delivery in February traded higher by 0.27%

Aluminium prices moved up by 0.73% to Rs 110.90 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions on the back of increased demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January moved up by 80 paise, or 0.73%, to Rs 110.90 per kg in a business turnover of 573 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February traded higher by 30 paise, or 0.27%, to Rs 112.15 per kg in 13 lots.

Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions on the back of increased demand from consuming industries in the spot market which mainly helped aluminium prices to trade higher at futures trade.
