Aluminium softens on reduced industrial demand

Aluminium prices declined by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous market today due to reduced industrial offtake.

However, other base metals held steady in thin trade.

Traders said fall in demand from consuming industries mainly led to the decline in aluminium prices.

In the national capital, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap were down by Rs 2 each to Rs 155,Rs 151, Rs 151 and Rs 149 per kg respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 100-106, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 840-845, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 368, chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 80, lead imported Rs 86, aluminium ingots Rs 155, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 151, aluminium wire scrap Rs 151 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 149.
