Amar Singh, Beni Prasad Verma in SP national executive

The Samajwadi Party (SP) today announced its 45-member national executive with party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav as the national president and newly-elected Rajya Sabha members Amar Singh and Beni Prasad Verma nominated as new members.

Another newly-elected Rajya Sabha member, Sanjay Seth, has been nominated as the new treasurar replacing Chandrapal Singh Yadav. National secretary Rajesh Dixit and member Javed Abdi have been dropped.

While Kironmoy Nanda has been nominated as vice-president, Ram Gopal Yadav would remain the national general secretary and spokesman.

Cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh government Mohammad Azam Khan's name figures in the list of national general secretaries.
 

Mulayam's brother Shivpal Singh, Jaya Bachchan and Balram Yadav, who was dropped from the Akhilesh Yadav government and subsequently re-inducted, have been nominated as members in the new committee.
