Amara Raja Batteries Q1 down 23.6% to Rs 99.85 crore

Amara Raja Batteries today reported a 23.58 per cent dip in net profit at Rs 99.85 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2017.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 130.66 crore in April-June period a year ago, Amara Raja Batteries said in a BSE filing.

However, total income of the company was up 14.99 per cent to Rs 1,684.96 crore during the quarter under review, as against Rs 1,465.28 crore of the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

Amara Raja's total expenses were up 20.37 per cent to Rs 1,534.24 crore, as against Rs 1,274.53 crore.

Shares of Amara Raja Batteries were trading at Rs 822.55 on BSE, up 2.10 per cent from previous close.
