Amara Raja commissions four-wheeler battery plant in AP

Amara Raja Batteries has commissioned a four-wheeler automotive battery plant in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh with an installed capacity of 2.25 million units per annum.

"The four-wheeler automotive battery plant at Nunegundlapalle village, Bangarupalyam Mandal, Chittoor District with an installed capacity of 2.25 million units per annum was commissioned on March 26, 2015," Amara Raja said in a BSE filing.

With the new plant, the total capacity of the four-wheeler automotive battery plant is at 8.25 million units per annum, it added.

Amara Raja, however, did not indicate the investment it has earmarked for the new plant.
