Claiming that the state vigilance bureau and the state police "deliberately excluded" Ranike's name in the FIR, Amarinder sought a high-level probe of the matter either by a sitting judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court or by CBI.
"Ranike was wilfully saved on the behest of (Parkash Singh) Badal. By excluding him in the probe by Vigilance Bureau, Badal indirectly procured clean chit for Ranike," Amarinder said.
The bureau had given Ranike a clean chit on October 7, citing that his name was not mentioned in the FIR lodged and that his involvement could not be verified at any stage of the probe.
