Congress leader Amarinder Singh today asked BJP candidate from Amritsar Arun Jaitley to address the issue of Punjabi farmers from Gujarat who were being evicted out of the state.

Amarinder, on a social networking site, said "he (Jaitley) has conveniently chosen to ignore all important question about the Punjabi farmers who are being thrown out of Gujarat, the State from where he has been representing the Rajya Sabha for the last 14 years."

He further said, "I understand, our esteemed guest has either no answers for the question or does not realise the importance of the issue."

Yesterday, Singh had questioned BJP nominee's "sheepish silence" over the plight of Punjabi farmers in Gujarat who are being "forcibly evicted out" of the state.
