Amarinder condoles death of Amritsar pilgrims in HP crash

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today expressed shock and grief over the death of 10 pilgrims from Amritsar in a road accident in Himachal Pradesh.

He expressed sorrow at the crash which also left 45 people injured after a private bus carrying the pilgrims fell into a gorge while negotiating a sharp curve near Dhaliara in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

On the directions of Amarinder, the Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar has rushed a team, comprising a tehsildar, assistant civil surgeon along with police officials, to the accident site to extend all possible help to the families of the victims, besides ensuring best treatment for the injured, an official spokesman said here.
 

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar was in constant touch with the sub divisional magistrate of Dehra, who was entrusted with overseeing the entire relief and rescue operations, he said.
