Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today condoled the demise of former judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice (Retd) J S Narang, who passed away at a private hospital in Mohali this afternoon after a brief illness.
Justice Narang (73) is survived by wife Raminder Narang and two sons Amitjit Narang and Ripjit Narang.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, Singh said Justice Narang was an eminent legal luminary, an able administrator, a distinguished jurist and above all a fine human being with the qualities of head and heart.
Pertinently, Singh had constituted a Commission of Enquiry headed by Justice Narang to probe into alleged irregularities in sand mining auctions in the state.
The cremation of Justice Narang would take place at 4:30 pm here tomorrow.
