Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Manish Tewari today said PCC president Amarinder Singh was a natural leader and the party's obvious choice for the Chief Ministership in Punjab after 2017 Assembly elections.
"His (Capt Amarinder's) elevation has enthused and imbibed fresh energy in the rank and file of the party," Tewari said here. "Nobody can stop Congress from forming the government in Punjab in 2017 under his leadership."
The former Union minister said Punjab had experimented with chaos and lawlessness during the last nine years and people know they cannot afford yet another phase of anarchy.

Amarinder has proven his credentials by providing an efficient and clean government between 2002 and 2007, he said, adding that people recall his government as how everything went off so well, and when they compare it with the Akali rule they miss that period.
Tewari also rejected the assumption that the Aam Aadmi Party was any challenge to the Congress in Punjab.
"Ask people of Delhi as how they are feeling after having made the AAP to rule them," he said, adding that AAP has not been a failure but a complete disaster in Delhi.
The choice, he said, in Punjab was very obvious between good and effective governance which Captain Amarinder is capable of providing, and the anarchy and lawlessness offered by AAP and SAD.
