Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today formed a two-member team to review the status of arrangements for the annual Amarnath yatra scheduled to commence later this month.

The team, comprising Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) Navin K Choudhary and Head, Engineering Division, R K Pandita, was formed by the Governor at a meeting convened here to take stock of the to-date status of the arrangements for the yatra beginning June 28, an official spokesman said.

He said the Governor, who is also chairman of SASB, directed the duo to visit each of the seven yatra camps along the twin tracks to the 3,880 metre high holy cave in south Kashmir Himalyas to ensure timely preparation.

Vohra has asked Choudhary to prepare a camp wise report on the status of the arrangements being made by all the concerned departments and agencies.

"This report will be reviewed by the Governor on the CEO's return. As per the Governor's directions, the CEO and his team shall spend the next three days on the tracks," the spokesman said.
