State finance minister Pradeep Amat today unfurled the Tricolour at the district-level Independence Day celebration here at the sprawling Barabati Stadium.
Taking salute at an impressive parade here, Amat in his address highlighted the achievements of the state government and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters of the state, who had converted Cuttack city into an epicentre of the freedom struggle.
Elsewhere in the city people celebrated Independence Day with enthusiasm and hoisted the Tricolour at several places, particularly in educational institutions and government offices.
Chief Justice Amitava Roy, in presence of other judges of the High Court and members of the bar, hoisted the National Flag inside the premises of the High Court.
