Amazon launches Echo Show in India for Rs 22,999

E-commerce major Amazon Tuesday said it has expanded its portfolio of Echo smart devices in India with the introduction of 'Echo Show' priced at Rs 22,999.

Echo Show is equipped with an immersive 10-inch HD display, a 5 MP front-facing camera, a built-in smart home hub and a speaker system with dolby processing. It will be available on Amazon India's e-commerce platform and select retailers.

"Customers across the country have purchased Echo devices and started their voice-first journey with Alexa. Today, we're making this voice-first experience better by introducing Echo Show which provides an enhanced audio-visual experience," Parag Gupta, head of Amazon Devices India said.

 

Amazon's line up of Echo products includes Input, Dot, Echo, Spot and Echo Plus.

* Snapchat launches support for 4 more Indian languages

* Snapchat has introduced four new Indian languages as the multimedia messaging app looks to expand its userbase in the Indian market.

These four languages include Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Punjabi, Snapchat said in a statement.

"Snapchat is happy to announce its localisation into 4 Indian languages... Reinforcing its commitment to the Indian market, Snapchat launched Discover in India last year and is now localising into regional languages to engage and excite Snapchatters to share content in their very own language," it added.

Recently, Snapchat had released localised lenses, filters and stickers on Holi and IPL teams.

* KidzByte raises Rs 2 cr in seed funding

* KidzByte MediaTech, an interactive educational news app company, Tuesday said it has raised Rs 2 crore in seed investment from serial entrepreneur Pranay Goyal.

KidzByte claimed that it intends to empower kids, parents and educators by providing unbiased and trustworthy information and innovative tools.

The company will use the investment primarily towards further scaling its technology, expanding its user base and resources.

"Kids would love to know what's happening around the world, but adult news channels and sites can sometimes be intimidating, overwhelming or even boring for children," KidzByte Founder Chetan D'Souza said.

KPMG India Chairman, CEO Arun Kumar elected as CFR member

* KPMG India Chairman and CEO Arun Kumar has been elected as a member of CFR, the firm said on Tuesday.

"KPMG International is proud to announce that Arun M Kumar, Chairman and CEO of KPMG India, has been elected as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)," KPMG said in a statement.

Commenting on his appointment to the CFR Kumar said, "I look forward to working with other members of the CFR to foster leading ideas and conversations around vital and strategic foreign policy and business issues in the Indo Pacific corridor.
