Global eCommerce giant Amazon has launched new Kindle 'Oasis', equipped with a longer battery life and weighs 20 per cent less than the previous generations, for Rs 23,999.
The eighth-generation of the popular e-reader is available for pre-order in India and will start shipping in the coming weeks.
"To lean back and read for hours, you need a sanctuary from distraction. We want Kindle to disappear, and Kindle Oasis is the next big step in that mission," Amazon.Com Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement.

The device comes with dual-battery charging system -- one in the e-reader and another in its cover -- which lets one read for months without charging the device again.
Oasis also comes with a new design to enable one-handed reading.
Other products in the Kindle family include Kindle (Rs 5,999), Kindle Paperwhite (Rs 10,999) and Kindle Voyage (Rs 16,499).
