A court here has taken cognizance of a charge sheet filed by the Delhi Police in the murder of a youth in broad daylight which was caught in CCTV cameras installed in a shop at Ambedkar Nagar area here.

Metropolitan Magistrate Navjeet Budhiraja took cognizance of the charge sheet filed in the case against three accused -- Shahrukh, Kartik and Kamal -- and transferred the case to a sessions court for further proceedings.

"I have perused the charge sheet as well as statement of the witnesses and all the other documents in support of it. On the basis of the same, I take cognizance of the offence under section 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC against the accused persons," the magistrate said.

The court also noted in its order that as the forensic science laboratory (FSL) report was awaited, the offences under the Arms Act will be considered later.

The court has fixed the case for further hearing before a sessions court on November 17.

The police had on October 28 filed a charge sheet in the case. According to the police, two juveniles, along with three adult accused, stabbed to death a 21-year-old Sachin in broad daylight at Madangir central market of southeast Delhi.

The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera installed outside a shop there.

As per the CCTV footage, Sachin was driving a motorcycle when he was attacked by the accused in the middle of the busy road, police said, adding the victim was dragged on the road and was stabbed several times by the accused.
