Aiming at students from the Tier II and Tier III cities of the country, Ambuja Neotia Group has come up with The Neotia University (TNU) near Sarisa in South-24 Parganas district.
City-based industrialist and Ambuja Neotia Group owner Harshavardhan Neotia, who was also the Chancellor of the University, today said TNU, established by the Act and Gazette Notification passed in the West Bengal Assembly this February, would have its first academic year from next June.
"TNU will offer courses in Performing Arts and Visual Arts using the Gurukul System, Liberal Arts and Languages like Spanish, Mandarin and English," Neotia told reporters here.

Besides, subjects such as Manufacturing Technology - Robots and Automotive Manufacturing, Infotainment - Animation and Video Game Design Energy Studies, Marine Engineering and Nautical Sciences, Biotechnology would also be taught at TNU, he said.
Incidentally, TNU would be the fifth private university in the state after Seacom Skills University in Shantiniketan, Adamas University in Barasat, JIS University in Agarpara and Techno India University in Salt Lake.
TNU, with a campus of about 50-acres and around 40 km from the city, would have the likes of former West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan, former UGC chairman Dr Hari Gautam and eminent vocalist Pt Vijay Kichlu in its governing body.
"TNU will offer an integrated five-year Post Graduate programme where students will have a flexibility of leaving the University after graduation," TNU vice chancellor, academician and scientist Prof Ashok Kolaskar said.
