Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said an amendment to revise the number of Legislative Council members in Andhra Pradesh is in the offing.
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address, he said that according to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, the state Legislative Council will get one third of the total numbers of seats in the Legislative Assembly.
"When the numbers in the AP Legislative Assembly is 175, the Council has only 50 members, though its strength must be one third of the assembly," he said.

The schemes include Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, progress in national highways projects, minimum pension of Rs. 1000 and generation of over Rs one lakh crore through auctioning of coal blocks.
"Our programmes speak about the priorities of the government...," Naidu said.
"The Prime Minister is known for devolution, being decisive and dynamic oriented. Devolution of funds to the states are a historic step. Every programme is aimed at empowering the common man," he added.
