American, Egyptian sculptors to showcase art of carving

American, Egyptian and Indian sculptors will showcase the art of carving at a workshop here which was inaugurated today.

US' John M. Weidman, Hany Elsayed Ahmed from Egypt, India's Kosal Kumar along with eight other artists will showcase their art at the 12-day workshop-camp at Ganpati Institute.

It was inaugurated by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture K K Mittal.

Kapoor Veer Bhan, chairman of Charu Castle Foundation, said the programme is supported by Lalit Kala Akademi and ONGC.

Mittal said that the Ministry of Culture is working to promote such cultural activities.

He also said the Archaeological Survey of India can assess the monuments worthy for research in Ghaziabad and protect them with the consent of public, adding there should be no construction work within a proximity of 300 m.
