'American Idol' star Phillip Phillips is engaged to his longtime girlfriend Hannah Blackwell.
The 24-year-old singer, who won the 11th season of 'American Idol' shared the news on Twitter yesterday, reported Aceshowbiz.
"My best Christmas surprise is happening. We're engaged yall! HannahBlackwell!," he captioned his picture with Blackwell, who posted a photograph on Instagram, proudly showing off her new engagement ring.
"I've been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I've been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness," she wrote.
The duo first met when they volunteered at a shelter for women and children and started dating before Phillips auditioned for 'Idol'.
Phillips released his second album 'Behind the Light' earlier this year.
