Auditions for the singing reality TV show "American Idol" have been called off in wake of Hurrican Harvey.
The auditions were previously supposed to be held in Houston on September 2 and San Antonio on September 4 have been cancelled, citing safety of the people is of "the utmost importance" to the makers.
The announcement was made on the show's official Twitter account.

"The safety of the community is of the utmost importance and our thoughts go out to all of those affected," the statement read.
The post further suggested that aspiring participants from Houston and San Antonio can turn up at upcoming auditions in Louisiana's Shreveport on September 4 and New Orleans on September 14.
One can also submit their auditions online at americanidol.Com.
Recently, music band Coldplay and singer Mary J Blige also pushed back the dates of their concerts in Houston, with Lady Antebellum completely shelving their show in the city.
