On the first day of his two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today received repeated complaints about poor condition of power supply in the area.
A group of villagers, who welcomed the Congress MP at the Inhauna intersection as he drove from Lucknow, expressed their anguish over the poor supply of power and other problems.
"This is a matter concerning the state government but (I) will see what can be done," Rahul told the villagers before he moved ahead towards the villages which polled maximum votes for him in the recent Lok Sabha polls.

At another point, another group of villagers complained to the Congress leader that the area was getting only three to four hours of power supply.
"I have written a letter to the Chief Minister on the power crisis... It is in a bad shape here... It is a problem in Amethi and Rae Bareli... The problem also concerns the entire country," he said.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi who had toured her Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency earlier this week was also apprised of the problems of power and water supply for irrigation.
Meanwhile, Madhukar Jaitley, advisor to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, refuted Rahul's charge, saying Amethi and Gauriganj were being supplied power adequately.
"Despite constraints and restraints, Amethi Bazaar is being supplied power for 24 hours a day, and it is fact. Eighteen hours of power was being supplied to Gauriganj," said Jaitley, adding that today the situation of power in Amethi was absolutely close to normal.
