The 75th Annual General Meeting of the CBCA was a noisy affair with 10-15 members storming out of it alleging that the AGM was constituted illegally, sources said.

In the polls presided over by election officer Sudhir Nanavati, the 19 institutional members, including president and secretary, and three individual members were elected unopposed.

The CBCA, which is an important constituent of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), is a political hotbed as the one who wins CBCA polls is sure to win majority in GCA.

This is likely to pave way for re-election of Chief Minister Narendra Modi as GCA president.

Shah is also vice-president of Gujarat Cricket Association.

Sources said that many members had raised issues about pending matters and termed the AGM as unconstitutional.

The opposition in the CBCA had alleged violation of the sporting body's constitution and had moved court last week.

Countering the allegations, CBCA president Bharat Jhaveri said, "Some members had filed a case in this regard in the court. Overruling all the allegations, the court had yesterday ordered holding of AGM and conducting polls".

Jhaveri presented the annual accounts of 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12, which were cleared by all members.
