A hi-tech digital library, which will have records of all important social and political movements of the country, was inaugurated by BJP president Amit Shah at the party headquarters here today.

Inaugurating it after a meeting of the Library Committee of the party attended by leaders including party's National General Secretary (Organisation) Ram Lal, Shah said that the library should not only present the nationalist ideology family but all the social-political traditions of the country.

"There will be arrangement to maintain records of all political parties and movements of the country," he said.

While the inauguration of the library and archive took place in the central office of the party, this is not limited to here and such library and archives will be opened across the country.

"Every state and district office will have this arrangement. An All India team will also be set up for this and work has been distributed to carry out this exercise," the party said in a press statement.

Noting that library and archives have always been given importance in BJP and Jana Sangh, it noted that keeping in mind the extended activities of the party and changing times, there is a need to reorganize it and technically restructure it as per the digital age.

"The party will take it up as a campaign," the statement said.
