Amit Shah to be chief guest at IPS probationers passing out

Union Home Minister Amit Shah would be the Chief Guest at the passing out parade of IPS probationers, to be held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) here on August 24.

On the occasion, Shah would take the salute at the parade.

The 'Dikshant Parade' of 70 RR (Regular Recruits) (2017 batch) would have 92 IPS Probationers, including 12 women, and 11 foreign officers, an Academy release said.

Among the 11 foreign officers, six are from Royal Bhutan Police and five from Nepal Police.

The 'Dikshant Parade' is the culmination of basic training of 42 weeks in the Academy followed by district practical training in their respective cadres for 28 weeks and Phase-II training for 13 weeks in the Academy, it said.

 

An official release said Gaush Alam of Telangana cadre has been adjudged the best all-round probationer.

He would receive the Prime Minister's Baton and Home Minister's Revolver, it said.

Richa Tomar of Rajasthan cadre has been adjudged the best all-round lady probationer.

The toppers of the batch, who hail from modest background, have overcome challenges and reached new heights, it said.

Fifty seven of the total 92 IPS probationers have engineering background, while 11 medical.
