CPI(M) state Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami will seek re-election from his home constituency of Kulgam as his name figured in the list of ten candidates released today by Awami Mutahida Mahaz (AMM) for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls.
Sitting legislator from Khansahib and Peoples Democratic Forum (PDF) founder Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen also figured in the list. There are three candidates each from Samajwadi Party, CPI(M) and PDF while the other candidate is from CPI.
Tarigami was given mandate from Kulgam Assembly seat of south Kashmir which he represents in the state Assembly since 1996. He was elected for the third time from the constituency in the 2008 Assembly polls after he defeated his PDP rival with a narrow margin of 236 votes.

Yaseen started his political career with National Conference and won the seat for the party twice in 1977 and in 1983. He deserted the party and won as an Independent in 2002.
Others who were given mandate by the AMM are Fayaz Ahmad Dar (PDF) from Budgam, Zahoor Ahmad Rather of CPI(M) from Wachi, Abdul Qayoom Mir (PDF) from Pulwama, Abdul Rashid Pandith (CPI) from Shopian, Sheikh Mohammad Shafi (SP) from Baderwah, Amrit Varsa (SP) from Ramban, Advocate Pushpa Dogra (SP) from Chenani and Om Prakash of CPI(M) from Reasi, a release issued by the group said.
Billed as a third front, AMM was formed in September last year as a conglomerate of various mainstream political parties.
