Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today condoled the death of Sadashiv Amrapurkar, describing him as a "great" actor who will always be remembered for his acting skills.
"He was a great actor. He came from the theater world and people will always remember him for his acting skills. I condole his death," he said on the sidelines of a function here.
Amrapurkar, who was being treated for a lung infection at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, passed away today. He was 64.
Amrapurkar had won two Filmfare awards. In 1984, he won the award for the best supporting actor for "Ardh Satya" and in 1991, the best villain trophy for his portrayal of a ruthless eunuch in "Sadak".
