Amritraj conducts coaching clinic for local youngsters

Former India Davis Cup captain Vijay Amritraj today held a short clinic for local youngsters and coaching aspirants of SDAT/SAI imparting basic approach to become good players and coaches.

SDATN-SAI and Sports Hostel coaches and students took the lessons from Vijay.

During interaction with the kids, Vijay recalled how his son Prakash, who failed to win any age-group title in the Junior programme in the US, later became Under-20 Champion at University levels thereby received good scholarships from American Academies.

Amritraj told them that if they do well in sports, that will give them leadership qualities too as proved by many sports persons throughout the world, who had become heads of multi national companies.
 

Before the commencement of the programme, Md Nasimuddeen, Principal Secretary to Tamil Nadu, Government and Youth Affaris, whose brainchild it wasto invite past Indian legends explained the programme.

He said except cricket, such clinics would be conducted in other sports also to inspire the children to take to sports and try to excel.
