Amritsar bound plane lands in Lahore

The passengers of an Uzbekistan Airline flight, which was to land here this morning, were taken by surprise when they found themselves in Lahore as the flight was diverted to Pakistan due to bad weather.

Sources at Amritsar Rajasansi Airport confirmed the development and said the flight was diverted to Lahore Airport of Pakistan due to bad weather.

The Tashkent-Amritsar-Delhi flight was supposed to land at the Amritsar Airport but was due to bad weather it remained in the air for long time, sources said.

Later, as the fuel was getting short and it became necessary for the flight to land at a nearby airport it was diverted to Lahore, which was the nearest airport.
 

Flight came back to India in the evening today after more than 100 passengers landed here before it took off for Delhi.
