Amritsar coldest at 7 C

Cold conditions continued to persist in many parts of Punjab and Haryana as the minimum temperatures in the region hovered below normal in the two states today.

Amritsar was the coldest place in the two states today recording a minimum temperature of 7 deg C, one degree below normal, the MeT said here.

Karnal in Haryana also experienced a cold night at 7.8 deg C, down three notches, while Hisar's low settled at 10 deg C, down one notch.

Bhiwani and Ambala registered respective minimum temperatures of 10 deg C and 11.1 deg C.

Chandigarh, too, recorded a below normal low at 9.9 deg C.
 

Ludhiana recorded a low of 10.8 deg C, while Patiala's low at 10 deg C settled a degree below normal.
