Amritsar was the coldest place in Punjab today,recording a minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius, as mercury dipped below normal levels at most places in the state and neighbouring Haryana.
Amritsar had a cold night as the mercury dropped by two notches, the MeT Department said here.
Ludhiana registered a low of 6.7 deg C, down one notch while Patiala's minimum settled at 10.8 deg C.

Bhiwani's minimum settled at 8.6 deg C while Ambala recorded a low of 10.6 deg C.
Chandigarh, too, experienced a cold night at 8.2 deg C, one notch below normal.
The MeT has forecast mainly sunny days in the two states during the next two days.
