A 39-year-old man was arrested on the charges of spying for Pakistan and several Army documents and pictures of restricted areas were seized from him, police said here today.
Based on a specific input, Tarwinder Singh, a resident of Lopoke area of Amritsar, was arrested from Attari Road area near the Wagah Border last night, they said.
A Pakistani SIM card, photographs of restricted areas, restricted army manuals and a hand-made sketch of military installations were seized from his possession, a police officer said, adding he had been charged under various sections of the Official Secrets Act and the IPC.

"While on a 10-day visit to Pakistan in April 2013 as part of a Sikh pilgrimage, he was reportedly recruited by a Pakistani official in return for money and was asked to use the code name of 'Rao Sahib'," a senior officer said.
A Pakistani SIM card was handed over to him and he was assigned numerous tasks by his handler that included finding out details of movement of army units in Amritsar, construction of new bunkers on Indian side of the international border and taking photographs of army vehicles along with their formation signs, police said.
