Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been accredited Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Expressing happiness over the achievement, AMU's Vice Chancellor Lt Gen (Retd) Zameer Uddin Shah said it was a tribute to the entire university community including students, faculty members and the non-teaching staff.
Last month, a NAAC team had visited AMU for four days for carrying out a comprehensive assessment of the university's performance in different spheres of activity.
