Aligarh Muslim University's Duty Society, which has been instrumental in raising funds for expansion of the varsity and establishing Chairs, will celebrate its 125th anniversary here tomorrow.
Vice President Hamid Ansari, an AMU alumni, will be the chief guest at the quasquicentennial, which will kick start with a seminar entitled "Educational Development of weaker sections in India".
"The seminar will discuss the ways and means to remove deficiencies in education and training of weaker sections in India," according to a statement.
The event would culminate with a poetic session that would feature works of distinguished poets, like Shakil Badauni and Majaz Asrarul Haq, who were associated with AMU, it added.
