The Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association (AMUTA) passed a resolution stating, "It was very strange that the police and civil authorities have not succeeded in unearthing the roots of this well organised racket."
The resolution stated that, "If immediate steps were not taken to bust admission racket, the real culprits would be emboldened to continue with their activities."
"We are aware of the slow progress in the investigations of a large number of cases of impersonation which had been detected by the university authorities earlier this month," new Registrar of AMU, Shahrukh Shamshad, told PTI.
"We will spare no effort in following up this matter with the concerned authorities and are determined to trace the real culprits and take all preventive measures for the future," said Shamshad.
AMU had lodged cases against 27 B.Tech aspirants on July 14 for "impersonating and cheating" in entrance exam of its Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology.
The AMUTA also said that, "it was disappointed that the new Vice-Chancellor has still not undertaken the long anticipated overhaul of the administration."
As no arrest has been made so far, the AMUTA feels that the entire matter was likely to be put in the back burner.
